How the Viking Konnect Makes Dual Gate Operation Wireless
One of the biggest hassles of dual gate openers is the need to connect them by trenching out even more space to connect cables that can wear, break, or worse, short out your system. Installing a gate opener is difficult enough, and dual gate openers are even more difficult, so it's time somebody made a wireless, easily connected system that allows users to monitor and control their gate openers from their smart devices. Luckily, Viking has done just that with the Viking Konnect system.
What Is the Viking Konnect?
The Viking Konnect is a wireless, two-piece master/slave communication kit that's primarily designed for dual Viking gate installations with any Viking operator that isn't a solar or first-generation unit. With a 100' range, this 2.4GHz Bluetooth kit connects two operators that use VFlex control boards together and allows you to use your smart device to monitor and connect your gate openers via the Viking Konnect app.

How Does it Work?
Upon installation by plugging the Master module to the primary operator and the slave to the secondary, the two modules should automatically go into "Secure Simple Pairing" mode and connect to each other exclusively, no extra wiring required. From here, it's as simple as configuring the control board on your master board on the primary operator or using the Viking Konnect App to change settings and configure your dual gate setup. Part of what makes the Viking Konnect system so great is that Bluetooth Class 1 FHSS resists interference from nearby wireless devices, meaning that your modules will connect to each other easily every time.
The Viking Konnect App
The Viking Konnect app is a free app on iOS & Android that through Bluetooth connection up to 100', grants you access to a wide variety of features including:
- Adjust timer settings, obstruction sensitivity, and gate speed from a phone
- View real-time status, error codes, and performance data
- Most useful for installers during setup and service visits
Before You Buy
Operators must be within 100 feet of your connected mobile device with clear line of sight recommended to ensure that the connection is stable. It's important to note that not all Viking Control boards are compatible with Viking Konnect and that they much be in VFlex-equipped operators. For remote access alongside wireless sync, the Viking Monitor is a separate product and requires one unit per control board
Compatible Models
- Compatibility is determined by the control board, not the model name
- All VFlex-equipped operators are supported: R-6, F-1, K-2, K-2S, G-5, T-21, L-3, Q-7, X-390, H-10, X-9, I-770
- Solar-powered and first-generation Viking operators are not compatible
- G-5 and X-9 dual gate configurations may require additional control panels
